Hello!

I wanted to say- I /really/ love the way you draw people; especially faces. ouo

The way it looks vaguely anime-like, but not to the point where it's hideously unrealistic and super super anime is something that's hard to do-

Is there a way you practiced?
Hello to you, too!

Thank you very much for your comment! I appreciate your interest

I used to draw a lot of cartoons when I was younger- which progressed into anime. As I got older that sort of thing felt very childish and I began to feel like my progress wasn't going anywhere, so I got into trying to draw more realistic faces and bodies.

I feel at this point a lot of what I do is struggling somewhere in between those two things, [largely out of worry it's going to be too much like one or the other] and what I ended up with just became what it is now. I still feel like I'm getting too much of the 'anime' coming through, but on the plus side, the fact that the work looks so in-between makes it easier for me to illustrate expression.

But the simple answer is, in trying to swap from one style to another, I got stuck somewhere in the middle, and this is the result! :)
That's incredible, and in a way, inspiring- I'm in the midst of that same struggle, myself...  But it's nice to see that there's a way to consistently work inbetween both styles! In fact, I feel a sudden urge to explore my own style now.

Thank you for taking the time to reply so thoughtfully!
Happy Birthday!
